In order to further obtain the fluid mechanics characteristic in RH vacuum refining device,numerical simulation of Gas-Liquid flow,based on bubble phase Population Balance Model (PBM),was carried out.The liquid velocity vectors diagram,the liquid streamlined diagram,the relation between argon flow rate and circulation flow rate,and the volume fraction of different bubble diameters are obtained in the simulation. When argon gas flow is 4.71 Lin1,9.42 Lin-1,14.13 Lin-1,18.84L-min-1 respectively,the relation between argon flow rate and circulation flow rate of the simulation are in good agreement with the experimental data reported in the literature. The simulation also proves the feasibility of simulation of Gas-Liquid flow with PBM applied in RH vacuum refining device,It can not only descript details of flow state more meticulously,but also the fluid mechanics behavior in two-phase system can be done more meticulous prediction. In addition,the numerical solution results could provide a beneficial reference for the actual engineering design and amplification of this type device.
