Pseudo-Phase Propulsion Simulation: A signal processing approach to determine quasi-multiphase flow promotion over successive analogous step-function relative permeability-controlled models in reservoir flow simulations
The disclosed embodiments include a method, apparatus, and computer program product for approximating a multi-phase flow in a reservoir simulation. For example, one disclosed embodiment includes a system including at least one processor and memory coupled to the at least one processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform operations that involve creating a set of curves relative permeability of pseudo-phase promotion; obtaining delivery rate history data; obtaining simulation configuration parameters; Performing a flow simulation using the set of relative permeability curves of the pseudo-phase promotion; and determining an optimally matching pseudo-phase delivery simulation result that best matches the delivery rate history data in the absence of relative permeability measurements derived from the subterranean porous media.
