摘要

Construction sequences and support parameters have high influence on stability of giant undergroundrncaverns. Based on damage coupled 3D FEM and fundamental principles of dynamic constructionrnmechanics, numerical simulations have been done to obtain optimal construction sequences for cavernsrnconstructed in highdipping laminar strata of Longtan hydropower station, China. The optimalrnconstruction sequences of the caverns are obtained by comparison the damaged area of surroundingrnrock mass and displacements of key points around the caverns. The conclusions from the research workrnare useful for design and construction of analogic rock engineering.
