The properties of a high frequency system of a sub-terahertz sheet beam traveling wave tube (SB-TWT) were studied through numerical simulations. It's composed of two L-shaped waveguides loaded with matching steps and reflective resonators and a double-staggered grating waveguide with a curved beam tunnel. The simulations of the beam-wave interaction demonstrated that it could produce stable outputs in a wide frequency range. The designed SB-TWT is a competitive sub-terahertz amplifier due to its broad bandwidth, high tube gain and low requirement of the input power.
