Gyrotron collector is an essential component of high power gyrotron, especially CW gyrotron. In order to meet the requirements of high power output, this paper introduced the defocusing optimization of the collector of the 140 GHz gyrotron. Based on the theory of electromagnetics, the transverse scanning system (TFSS) for high-power continuous wave (CW) cyclotron collector is designed. By using numerical simulation software, the power density distribution of TFSS and the original condition of the collector are obtained. The results show that the falling point of the electron beam on the collector is 380 mm, which is nearly ten times larger than the original falling point, and dramatically improves the power capacity of the collector.
