cOLLECTOR WITH A COLLECTOR WALL AND A COLLECTOR COIL GROUP FOR A GYROTRON

The collector of a gyrotron is provided with a hollow cylindrical recess, running coaxial with the axis, in which the collector coil group, for directing the hollow electron beam from the resonator onto the collector wall, is coaxially embedded and fixed. The coil construction requiring space around the collector is thus not required. The collector coil group can either be energised with just direct current, whereby the rotationally symmetrical impact region of the hollow electron beam extends over the whole collector wall, or energised with a direct current with a superimposed alternating current, whereby the rotationally symmetrical annular impact region oscillates between two adjustable limiting positions on the collector wall in time with the alternating current frequency.
