MECHANOCHEMICAL DIAMOND STONE CONTAINING BaSO_4 ABRASIVE

摘要

A mechanochemical diamond stone containing a BaSO_4 abrasive was developed and its performance was evaluated through the superfinishing of bearing steels. The BaSO_4 abrasive forms a magnetite oxide layer on the steel surface, resulting in the SD/BaSO_4 stone exhibiting unique finishing characteristics.rn(1) The SD/BaSO_4 stone produces a smooth surface suitable for bearing races.rn(2) The SD/BaSO_4 stone reduces both the hardened layer depth and the compressive residual stress in the finished surfaces.rn(3) The SD/BaSO_4 stone is highly resistant to wear.
