Spectral Divergence for Cultural Heritage applications

Using reflectance spectra allows to compare the pigmentrnmixtures in paintings. In order to improve the actual subjectivernspectral comparison, we propose to use spectral similarity measures.rnThe Kullback-Leibler spectral Pseudo-Divergence (KLPD)rnis selected due to his expected metrological properties. The comparisonrnbetween a subjective assessment and the objective assessmentrnis developed for mixture of pigments coming from a culturalrnheritage painting. The obtained results show the good quality ofrnthe relationship between the subjective results and the objectivernones using the KLPD.
