摘要

Since the human genome project has uncovered the full sequence of human genomes, the analysis of the variation among individual genomes becomes an area of intense investigation. One of the most common forms of genomic variation is single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). SNPs are high-resolution genetic markers for mapping gene and tools for identifying numerous genetic and inherited diseases. There is an increasing demand for SNP genotyping technologies that are simple, rapid, cost-effective, and readily amenable to automation for high throughput analyses. Some aspects of SNP detection using electrochemical and related approaches are discussed based on resent research works in authors' laboratory.
