An Optimum process for forming hard anodizing films on cast aluminium alloys ZL 101 and ZL 108 was obtained by orthogonal experiments.The wear characteristics of anodic films were tested and discussed.Some elemental transitions during abrasion were found by EDX analyses.SEM and XRD analyses were made for the films formed by above process.The results showed that Si,as the major alloying element in the alloys,did not prticipate electrochemical reactions during anodizing and existed in the film in a form of free and crystaline grains.This seemed to be beneficial to the wear resistance of the film.
