FORMABILITY PERFORMANCE OF 5XXX SERIES ALUMINUM ALLOYS PRODUCED WITH TWIN-ROLL CASTING TECHNOLOGY

1. Twin roll cast 5XXX alloys posses notably good strength, elongation and forming indices. 2. For the alloys CC5052 and CC5754, the limiting strains are almost equal or higher than that of DC-cast counter parts in all deformation modes of FLD. 3. Although DC5182 has slightly higher limiting strains at equibiaxial deformation mode (100:100 die ratio), both materials exhibit almost equal performance in other deformation modes.
