Catalysis by solid acids: selective diels-alder reactions promoted by measoporous aluminosilicates having honeycomb-like openings in nanometer dimensions

Proton and zinc ion-exchanged mesoporous aluminosilicates have been tailored and accelerated the Diels-Alder reaction between cyclopentadiene and poor dienophiles such as methyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate more effectively than a K 10-based solid acid catalyst.
