Highlights from the knowledge-base of a sanding advisor called S_I~T_EX

An automated sand control consultant and expert system (S_I~TEX) has been developed to assist users in predicting sand occurence during production and in selecting and designing the proper sand-exclusion treatments. The system is based on an easy upgrade. easy expand format and involves four primary modules, thus giving the end-user greater flexibility to tentatively access and evaluate different scenarios of knowledge processing. This paper gives an overview of the knowledge involved in various modules of the S_I~T_EX system.
