Adsorption of DMMP, a model gas of toxic gases such as sarin, blood and nerve gas, was carried out through activated carbon fiber(ACF, 1500m~2/g) packed bed and compared to metal impregnated activated carbon(ASC-AC, 850m~2/g). The DMMP adsorption capacity of ACF was 7.4 times higher than ASC-AC at the breathrough time of 0.04mg/l because of higher specific surface area and uniformly developed micropore structure. Evaporation of DMMP from ACF was begun over 100℃. Regeneration of DMMP saturated ACFs were completely performed at 121℃, 1.2atm, 30min., and can be used several times, while the ASC-AC was regenerated only 60% and difficult from using twice. However, adsorption of DMMP by metal impregnated ACF should be studied on the removal of various kinds of toxic gases.
