Up and down method is one shot statistics, which is used to estate critical stimulus-A50% and standard deviation of some lot of one shot product, and then to deduce its Xp% (stimulus energy to P% Go). But choosing criterion is very important. Unfitness of the criterion usually results in the drift o f mean value of test data. The paper found a new criterion, most suitable for pyrotechnical percussion device. It is that non-full explosion, combustion and decomposition are seen as 'Go' when stimulus energy decreases, while seen as 'No Go' when stimulus energy increases.
