摘要

This study addresses the design issues of an intelli-rngent system for image understanding applied to re-rnmote sensing minefield area reduction. We propose arnsystem using a combination of image processing tech-rnniques and a knowledge-based intelligent scheme thatrninteractively cooperate together to produce a dangerrnmap of the surveyed area. This contribution suggestsrna semantic knowledge-based scene interpretation sys-rntem. Our approach exploits semantic contextual in-rnformation, combining scene and application domainrnknowledge. The conceptual issues of the proposedrnsystem, developed under the EU-IST ARC projectrn"Airborne minefield area reduction", are presentedrnand discussed.
