Large amounts of radioactive waste will be generated in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone in the future. Until now, individual projects in the Zone have been responsible for waste management on a project basis. Existing treatment, storage, and disposal facilities appear to be inadequate for the total amount of waste forecast. Additional waste managementrnfacilities are recommended.
