摘要

The societal and technological changes seen in the world at large and the need for an ever-greater understanding of intercultural communication are reflected in today's education generally, and language teaching particularly. This article is about how inter cultural interaction becomes an important locus of the development of language awareness and language use. It tries to show how " telecollaborative" approa ches to language teaching afford both teachers and learners to engage in intercultural communication. By being representatives of their cultures, learners will develop awareness for the need to have enough knowledge and competence to be able to use English to share their home culture information with speakers from other cultures.
