THE RELATION BETWEEN THE PARAMEDIC’S BAGS LOCATION DURING OUT-OFHOSPITAL RESUSCITATION ON THEIR EFFORT AND PERFORMANCE

Paramedic work requires decision-making that is based onlimited information, and the ability to accurately and swiftlyfollow clinical treatment protocols (Bitan 2017). Paramedicsalso suffer from above- average rates of work-related injuriespartly due to how they handle and place their equipmentduring the treatment procedure (Fischer, et al., 2017). Datathat we have collected indicates that this physical strain maybe due, in part, to the fact that the paramedic’s equipment isarbitrarily placed around the patient (Bitan & Jaffe, 2017). Inaddition to the physical effort, inadequate access to theequipment may diminish a paramedic’s performance bydecreasing the quality of the treatment and increasing thechance of errors (Myers et al., 2008; Harari et al., 2017; Harariet al., 2018). The objective of this study is to investigate theinfluence of equipment position on the paramedic’sperformance and level of effort during out-of-hospitalresuscitation.
