There is a growing demand for flexible energy storage devices to meet the special flexible and wearable electronics. The low energy density restrict the application of supercapacitors while typical lithium ion batteries (LIBs) are suffering from the leakage and explosion of organic electrolytes. Aqueous rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (ARLIB) with high safety, environmental friendliness and low cost are regarded as one of the most ideal choice for wearable electronics. Here we report a quasi-solid-state ARLIB system made from CMC-PAAM-LiTFSI hydrogel polymer electrolyte, LiTi2 (PO4)3 and LiMn2O4 for use as anode and cathode, respectively. The battery system can reach a high energy density (ca. 80 Wh kg-1) at 1200 mA g-1, and 79% of the initial capacity was retained even over 5000 cycles. Our research offers a promising strategy to construct flexible energy storage device with ultralong lifetime, high capacity and high safety.
