1. Blade Tip Timing used to monitor health of 40' diameter compressor blades at NFAC. 2. New probes had to be developed and the tip timing acquisition modified to account for health monitoring on such large fan blades. 3. Accurate correlations were developed to account for influence of variable angle on deflection measurement when attempting to determine blade strain. 4. Probe position optimized to estimate large once-per-revolution vibrations in the presence of higher frequency responses while maintaining space restrictions. 5. Work ongoing to further refine tip timing data health monitoring for compressors at multiple facilities.
