A view of nature as the foundation of environmental ethics: Lindage Between Systems Thinking and Yin and Yang Thought

the establishment of the proper balance of nature and humanity is a primary subject for environmental ethics. Systems thinking and Oriental Yin and Yang thought have eminent similarities in spite of delicate differences of epistemology. Knowledge of similarties about cultures is necessary for us to accomplish a common goal. This paper attempts ot integrate a view of nature as the foundation of environmental ethics based on the analogy ofsystems thinking and yin and yang thought. Systems thinking views things, phenomena, and the life of people as ocmplex interactions which have many ocmmon poitns of views with Yin and Yang thought. Also systems thinking sees nature as an organic, open, evolutionary system. In the same way Yin and Yang forms a holistic view of nature. A more integrated view of nature based on the analogy of systems thinking nad Yin and Yang thought could be suggested by the following: (i) life-oriented view of nature (ii) Mutal Life-Giving view of nature(iii) aesthetic view of nature.
