ESR investigations on CNF have been reported. The resonance spectrum has been deconvoluted into two main components, a faint line located on the low field wing of the main resonance assigned to magnetic impurities and in a convolution of two asymmetric lines originating from electrons delocalized over conducting domains. One of these lines (the broadest one) has been assigned to electrons delocalized over the conducting domains of CNTs. The origin of the other line is still under investigation. Previous experiments showed that Raman spectroscopy and X-Ray diffraction, may be used to assess the orientation of nanotubes. This contribution proves for the first time that ESR spectroscopy may be used to assess the orientation of CNF.
