摘要

Herein, we demonstrate novel tissue adhesive, injectable and thermo-sensitive chitosan/pluronic composite hydrogels inspired by the unusual adhesion used by mussels. We found that the conjugation of catechol moieties, the key components of mussel adhesion, is highly beneficial for (1) chemical crosslinking of chitosan and pluronic, and (2) rapid and strong adhesion of the hydrogels on soft tissues and mucous layers. These novel tissue adhesive chitosan/pluronic based hydrogels are expected to be used for drug delivery, tissue engineering, and tissue adhesives to arrest bleeding.
