Watermarking robustness and invisibility is highly required for multimedia copyright applications. This paper studies the relation between the robustness and the invisibility by varying the wavelet decomposition level. The experimental results show that there is an inverse relationship between these two elements. Our experimental results show that the robustness of the watermarking algorithm is improved by increasing the wavelet decomposition for levels grater than or equal to three levels (L=3) decomposition, however, invisibility is affected. A compromise between the two can provide the optimum watermark embedding image.
