The UK has a large number of aging nuclear related structures. To assure the maintenancernof nuclear safety their structural integrity is an important function. Recent developments inrnthe UK have established a basic logic for safety cases, without being prescriptive. As such, it canrnbe applied to any of the wide range of nuclear facilities that are regulated.
