Environmental Performance in the EP Industry-2004

In 2004, the International Association of Oil and GasProducers (OGP) published for the first time a detailedsynopsis of the environmental performance in the E&Pindustry. A substantial proportion of member companiesprovided information on five indicators: atmosphericemissions; produced water discharges; NAF drill cuttingsdischarges; accidental spills of oil and chemicals; and energyefficiency. Data in this report were presented as global andregional averages, normalised to production.This performance indicator performance programme hascontinued and a new set of data for activities in 2004 has beenproduced. OGP member companies produce nearly 60% ofthe world's oil and about 30% of its gas. The newperformance report is an opportunity to address emergingtrends in environmental performance as well as factors thatunderpin the data.
