Newly expanded solar and renewable tax credits in the state of north carolina

To simplify and modernize the North Carolina tax credits for solar and other renewable energy sources, new legislation was enacted in the 1999 legislative session. Fourteen different credits were eliminated and replaced by one general credit that covered residential and nonresidential solar and other renewable energy property. A credit of 35percent was established for all renewable energy sources, with the maximum limits varying by renewable energy resource or technology, and by residential or nonresidential sectors.
