A significant increase in overall cement penetration for the SRCTC appears to provide the same rotational stability offered by the stem in the NKII prosthesis. Virtually eliminating bone cement extrusion during implantation could lead to lower host immunolog-ical responses and is less likely to migrate into the articulation. The SRCTC's rotational stability mimics that of the NK II, but is 80% shorter (1.667 in.) in component profile accommodating minimally invasive surgery techniques. Smaller implants require less invasive incisions, thus potentially minimizing host tissue damage during implantation.
