During resource modeling, a vast majority of the time and effort is expended in estimation of the primary variable, e.g. AuFA for a gold deposit. However, in defining ore most of the uncertainty may actually be associated with other variables, such as carbonate carbon. In addition, these other variables are often under-sampled, both during exploration as well as in grade control samples.rnThe calculation of the contribution of relative uncertainty for each variable within the Gold Quarry deposit illustrates the value that conditional simulation studies provide in understanding the interaction of variables which define ore. Understanding the relative contribution for each variable of the total uncertainly can focus proper attention to problematic variables during resource modeling and reconciliation issues.
