摘要

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is a technique in which charged particles dispersed in liquid are deposited onto a conductive substrate under the force of an applied electric field. It is a method of screening phosphor that has been extensively investigated. Compared with other coating methods, EPD has many advantages, such as high uniformity of deposition, reduction of waste, low level of contamination and the possibility to deposit continuously. Moreover, it is easy to control the deposit thickness with the EPD process, which is a very important factor for phosphor screen performance deposits, especially of high-resolution displays; being thick enough to avoid pinholes or other defects and thin enough to produce adequate brightness. Our group has systematically studied the fundamentals of the EPD process, the adhesion strength of deposits and the factors that affect the adhesion strength.
