摘要

Various methods are presented in the literature for electrochemical preparation of zinc oxide from aqueous solutions (1-4). A well-known method able to produce good crystalline materials involves two steps: one corresponds to the formation of hydroxide ions by reduction of nitrate species and the other to the precipitation of Zn(OH)2 due to increasing of local pH on the electrode surface. It is observed that the nitrate reduction potential becomes more positive in the presence of a metal ion and it is supposed that metal ion acts as an intermediary for charge transfer from electrode to nitrate ion (5).
