PURPOSE: A method growing zinc oxide nano rod to a vertical direction is provided to reduce the diameter of the nano rod by increasing the aspect ratio of the zinc oxide nano rod. CONSTITUTION: A substrate is arranged in a first vial. Zinc-containing organic metal, a reaction activating agent, and a solvent agent are introduced into the vial at room temperature. The first vial is sealed. The temperature of a solution in the first vial is raised to reference temperature, and the raised temperature of the solution is maintained. A zinc oxide nano rod is grown. A second vial is introduced into an oven, and the temperature of a solution in the second vial is raised to the temperature of the solution in the first vial. The solution in the second vial is aged. The substrate from the first vial is arranged in the second vial, and the second vial is sealed.
