Performance Based Multiple Intelligences Test Analysis

The purpose of this research is to analyze the nine constructs of Multiple Intelligences (MI). The nine constructs are Logical-Mathematical (LM), Verbal-Linguistic (VL), Visual-Spatial (VS), Music (MS), Body Kinesthetic (BK), Interpersonal (IE), Intrapersonal (IA), Naturalist (NA) and Spiritual (SP). The analysis was done based on performance assessments. Four hundred and forty one students, ages from 16 to 19 years old were randomly selected in this research. Results of the study showed that female students are more inclined towards BK, IE and IA intelligences as compared to male students. In addition, students from urban areas showed higher inclination towards BK, MS, NA, LM and IA as compared to students from the rural areas except for VS. Furthermore, results showed that students from science stream possess greater intelligences in three domains mainly the BK,VS and MS intelligences. Additionally, students from higher income group showed higher inclination towards BK and MS intelligences. In conclusion, the study showed that female students in science stream, located in urban areas and from high income group possess higher BK intelligence compared to male students. Female students from urban schools also have higher IE intelligence as compared to male students. This research implied that female students possess intelligences that are related to activities involving body movements such as sports, dance and drama. They also have good communication skills and are capable of persuading friends to work in a team.
