Numerical modeling of 3-D long wave runup using VTCS-3

We will present solutions benchmark problems two and four, i.e., wave runup on a conical island and simulation of Hokkaido-Nansei-Oki tsunami. Our field model are the shallow-water wave equations, without friction factors or artificial viscosity. Here, we will show that--despite the severe limitation of the shallow-water wave equations--our results agree well with laboratory data and with field observations.
