摘要

A comparative evaluation of surface treatments for concrete against chloride attack is presented. Two types of paints, four types of impregnation materials and two types of water releasable forms were applied to standard concrete specimens and subjected to outdoor exposure for five years. Protective capability of the surface treatments were evaluated by the chloride penetration defined as a quotient of the accumulated chloride content to the annual amount of airborne salt measured in the vicinity of the specimens. The most effective treatment was use of a water releasable form by which the chloride penetration was limited only in a portion near the exposed surface after five years of outdoor exposure in a coastal area.
