An alpha-amylase was obtained fro mthe mutant G5 of B.subtilis. The alpha-amylase was purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation, DEAE-Sephadex A-50 column chromatography, Sephade G-100 column chromatography, and so on. The molecular weight of the enzyme was 52.5KD and its isoelectric point was pI 4.60.
