摘要

Progress in the development of laser ablation sampling with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP/MS) has allowed deployment into the Hot Cell facility at Hanford's 222-S laboratory. Results to date indicate that this method can be used to rapidly characterize "raw" radioactive tank sludge materials with respect to process chemistries as well as radiogenic components including fission and actinide distributions. Initial testing conducted with an identical test system determined experimental operating parameters which has provided quantitative assessment of sludge elemental/isotopic constituents. The deployed system configuration will be described. Data will be presented which illustrates present qualitative and quantitative capabilities of the system.
