There are a number of types of noise that cause degradation of the perceived sound quality of electronicdevices. These problem noises include impact sounds, rattles, bad rhythms, buzzes, and a variety oftones, both high- and low-pitched. This paper begins a longer-term investigation to quantify andunderstand the effects of high-pitched (over 3000 Hz) tones on the perceived sound quality of, in thiscase, inkjet printers and digital projectors.
