Acoustic Blanket Systems can reduce radiant sound from chillers in a cost effective manner. Thismaterial is a direct surface treatment. The acoustic blanket wraps around machinery andequipment. Maximum performance can be achieved by treating the Compressor, Motor,Associated Compressor Piping, Condenser Shell and in some cases where it may exist, Hot GasBy-pass Piping. In some instances, a metal framework can be integrated into the design to allowan enclosure geometry for instance, treatment to an air cooled motor. Minimum performance canbe achieved by treating just the compressor. Compressor treatment will address at least,noticeable “Pure Tones” associated with the compressor. Since every chiller and its componentmatch-ups will vary, consult an acoustic blanket manufacturer or a chiller manufacturer todetermine the best and most cost effective solution.
