Considers the control of a two-tank chemical reactor system withnmultirate sampling using a parameter plane method. A PID controller withna “slow-fast” multirate scheme is used for the chemicalnreactor system. Based on two related stability equations and using thenPID gains as the adjustable parameters, the set of all possible PIDngains to maintain the chemical reactor system's stability, and at thensame time, to make the system have a specified gain margin, phasenmargin, damping ratio, and damping factor is determined. The effects ofnmultirate sampling on the set of PID gains satisfying the specificationsnare also examined
