The Mechanical Properties of Nylon ATY for Technical Fabrics

Nylon is frequently being used for the DTY, ATY and covering yarn during last 40 years. Nowadays, it is used for technical fabrics because of its excellent elasticity, tensile strength and abrasion resistance. This study is aiming to develop air jet textured yarn for technical fabric using nylon supply yarn (FDY 70d/24f and 210d/48f (X2)). For this purpose, nine kinds of nylon ATY 490d/120f are made on air jet texturing machine according to the texturing conditions such as nozzle type, yam speed, feed yam type and over feed. The yarn physical properties such as yarn count, thermal shrinkages and tensile properties are measured and discussed with various ATY texturing conditions. Here after, it is estimated that high functional technical fabrics are developed through this study.
