This paper presents the results of a comparative evaluation of the seismic performance of twoRC bridge columns, one of a full cross section and the other of a hollow cross section. The full section specimenhas a cross section of 120×80 cm and a height of 500 cm, whereas the hollow column has an interior sectionof 96×56 cm, and 12 cm for thickness. The specimens were subjected to a cyclic reversal loading pattern.Experimental tests were carried out in order to evaluate the performance of the specimens at the limit andultimate stage; flexural and shear strengths, and ductility capacity were observed as well. Tests were performedat the laboratory of great structures of CENAPRED.
