Metabolic supply chains with non-linear fluxes

This paper discusses a mathematical model of metabolic supply chains including non-linear fluxes between the compartments. The theory of supply chains, which describe e. g. biochemical reaction chains and which are well investigated in logistics, supports central aspects of the Selfish-brain theory. Since a quantification of the interactions between integrated compartments occurring in the modelling of the human metabolism, is not available until now, we generalize the mathematical model by allowing non-linear fluxes and we prove that basic properties are conserved under this generalization.
