Antioxidant Activities of Plants Extracts Produced by Microfiltration Process

This paper presents kinds of extraction and cross-flow filtration of composition of 4 herbs. The plants investigated are: hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L), rosehip (Rosa canina), and respectively chokeberry (Aronia melanocarpa). Antioxidative activities of plant extracts have been determined by DPPH free radical scavenging activity and reducing power of extracts assays. The main problem in practical applications of microfiltration is the reduction of permeate flux with time, caused by the accumulation of feed components in the pores. This study was focused on finding new natural remedies in cardiovascular therapy. A new formulation product was studied.
