摘要

This paper presents the numerical implementation of general curvature matching method ofr five-axis NC tool path generation. For given flat-end tool geometry and geometric features of a sculptured surface, the cutter's inclination and yaw angles are continuously adjusted to match the slope and curvature of the machined surface. The machining error caused by the cusp between any two tool passes is derived. Algorithm, implementation and examples are given to illustrate the method and its advantages.
