Intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) under high-temperature high-pressure water environment was evaluated by acoustic emission (AE) method. AE monitoring during constant displacement test was applied to identify the mechanism of IGSCC in sensitized type 304 stainless steel under high-temperature high-pressure water environment. The AE signals corresponding to IGSCC were extracted by machine learning algorithm. The extracted AE signals were associated with the fracture of coincident grain boundary. It was estimated that IGSCC under high-temperature high-pressure water environment occurred with mechanical fracture.
