WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS AND THE WEB: A NEW DIMENSION FOR DISTANCE EDUCATION

This paper discusses the utilization of the cell phone as a means of administering a distance educationrncourse while on vacation, on the road, or away from the computer in the office. It describes how facultyrntaught MBA courses while traveling. The selection of appropriate infrastructure, cell-phone contract,rnand equipment has been identified. Management of the classroom remotely created many issues thatrnhad to be dealt with during the process. Generally, the process worked well and wirelessrncommunications will be utilized more in the future.
