摘要

The present study examined the impact of a high status HR department and unionization on the careerrnprogress of women Canadian organizations. Results indicate that while the presence of a union can helprnincrease the number of women at supervisory levels, the presence of a high-status HR department wasrnlinked to more women reaching middle management levels. The present study also suggests that thernimportance placed on education, work experience and performance appraisal ratings varies depending onrnmanagement level, the presence of a union and the status of the HR department.
