Twenty years ago in Plymouth Massachusetts, the NESEA conference focussed exclusively on "Solar Greenhouses". At the time, such technology, along with the then tax subsidized solar domestic hot water technology, were viewed by safe energy advocates as cutting edge solutions for a world facing proliferation of nuclear power plants, oil embargoes and the impending depletion of fossil fuel reserves. Since that conference I have built about 150 sunrooms, greenhouses and sloped glazing projects. In the process I have learned far more from my failures than from my successes.
